So here we are, I am 3 months in, and I will be honest/vulnerable with my feelings and experiences. I am 26 pounds down and loving my results.
Let’s start with the first day. Was I nervous? Yes, absolutely! I am not the type of person that runs to the medicine cabinet when I have a headache, pain, or sniffle. So, this was a big step for me.
The week before starting I promised myself that since this was both a time and money investment, I would do this right or not do it at all. I followed my eating plan, that I had in mind, the week before I started. I wanted to not eat sugar, to sort of ‘cleanse the palette.’ What I mean by that was no sweets, no soda, and no added sugar in my coffee, or tea. I don’t mean I started reading labels and eliminating sugar… just not adding sugar or eating sweets. That week gave me a good perspective on what I thought I would need to do, struggle with food. Come to find out that is not what I needed to do, at least not 100%. I just needed to be smarter about my food choices. Better at pairing the wants with the needs. There is an influencer out there (I do not remember her name) that says, “eat what you want, add what you need.” That was great advice!
I also started to practice the number one thing you need to do on a GLP… minimum of 90-110 grams of protein a day, minimum of 90 ounces of water per day. Number 2 is a minimum of 30 grams of fiber a day. I had put together a list of proteins I liked and how much protein was in a serving, and how big the servings were. Get Trim also supplies you with a listing. Keep it. Pay attention to it. I also selected my water container based on the size and how many fill-ups I would need during the day. Keeping in mind if you drink iced tea, or any other fluid it does count toward your daily intake, although remember I stopped drinking soda. I do eventually add a soda in a couple of times a week or less, even though I now no longer crave them… only the bubbles.

The first day… Please be advised everyone’s experience is different, this is just mine.
First, I have to say the thought of giving myself a shot was a bit unnerving, but we moms are made of some tough stuff, we can adapt when needed. True to form, I did, and it wasn’t an issue at all. I amazed myself.
The day before my first shot, I planned on having a good solid meal of 30 grams of protein, some fiber, and water intake, as well as the day of, I made sure I was prepared to follow the plan. You are told to pay attention to your body, it will tell you what you need or what it does not want.
In the first hour, I felt nauseous for about 2 minutes. That first second of nausea, I followed it up with a protein bar, if I had peanut butter I would have had a spoonful. Literally, with the first bite or two, the nausea was gone, just as fast as it came. That was the first and last time I ever felt like that. Yay!
In the second hour I had a small bout with diarrhea, one lone incident. I did say I would be honest. I called a GT team member, and they said it could have been a result of the protein bar if it had a lot of sugar or just the initial reaction of my body deciding what to do with this newfound compound. Note to self, watch for sugar content in protein bars. That was the first and last time that happened. Another Yay!
I felt at that moment I was through the worst of the adjustment, and as it turned out I was correct, though I did not know it at the time. I can say though, of all the weight loss paths I have taken, I was feeling positive, and nothing was going to take that away. Win-win in my books.
