Still Going, Still Growing: My Month 6 Milestone

I am still doing this! I have to say that seeing the scale move no matter how much (even if it is small) is what keeps me motivated. I finished months 5 & 6 and I hit another milestone in my weight loss goals.

One thing to keep in mind is as you lose some weight, and go up in dosage, you need to increase your protein intake. This has me exploring new quick fixes when we are short on time. My cooking knowledge is expanding… another bonus!

I am always learning something new. Here is another one… Do not weigh yourself often, it could discourage you and derail your plans. It can also cause you to make bad food choices, you know when you feel like something is impossible, sometimes people throw up their hands and give up/give in. Don’t do that you have come too far!

In month 6 (I am currently on month 7) I started to make sure I was doing more physical movement. I should have started in month 5, but it got away from me. As I said before, you just get back up and keep going.  So, my first move is to walk more. I try to hit one number on the weekdays and a large number on the weekends.

The weekdays, I usually hit that number easily as I do some key things to help reach those goals. Using the farthest bathroom, I have a timer that goes off to remind me to circle the building every hour to hour and a half. If it is a day I am working from home, that walk is to the mailbox, I take the long way, or it is a walk circling around my garden beds, to the back wall and circle back around the garden beds. I do not have a huge yard, but it is enough to add plenty of steps. If I am still short, I am lucky and have a used treadmill to finish out the day.

On weekends I picked some favorite places to visit and switched those up. The bookstore, several local nurseries, home improvement stores, hobby stores, thrift stores… etc. Luckily, I do have restraint to keep from purchasing things… well, maybe not at the nurseries or bookstores. LOL

This month I am adding in some mussel building plans. I found some bands and some items I am using for weights until I find some inexpensive ones. I will keep you posted on how I do and feel.

The one thing that is super exciting for me is, I haven’t had to buy new clothes yet, but that is not because of a lack of weight loss or change in my body, rather it is because that is how snug my clothes were. I don’t know about most people, but I am hoping I am not alone in this, but I also had some clothes in the back of the closet that I just could not get rid of because I like them even though they didn’t fit. Well, guess what? Yep, some of those are fitting me now, some are still snug, but some I can put on with ease.

One last thing, probably my favorite. Now when I hug my hubby, I can hug him closer! We are big huggers… he takes is seriously that hugs help with my stress. It is nice to fit back in the nook.

This is going to be a happy summer!
